We are a unique service that offers Waikato families with babies professional, friendly, practical, non-judgemental support.

Success Stories.

The birth of our second child was anticipated with much excitement and nervousness.  Our first child had many problems with her health and I was anxious that her brother would suffer the same problems.

The Waikato Family Centre runs an eight week Post Natal Depression support group.  During this time I received the support and knowledge I need to get me back on top of things.  I also met two of the best friends I will ever have.

About us

The Waikato Family Centre was originally the Plunket Family Centre.  In 1996 funding for the Midland Region Family Centres was discontinued.  A group of concerned families who believed this was a devastating decision that would leave many families and babies without adequate support formed a Trust - now the 'Waikato Family Centre Trust' and sought funding from charitable organisations and what was previously known as the Area Health Board.  Although funding has remained a continual problem we have managed to operate a successful service since 1996.

Although funding has remained a continual problem we have managed to operate a successful service since 1996.

We work hard to provide our service and rely on the generosity of our sponsors for funding - sometimes this is not enough but you can help us through contributions.
